Joseph Blanco White (1775–1841)

Spanish-born theological writer. Ordained priest, 1798. Left for England in 1810, as the French advanced into Spain. Published a monthly periodical called El Español, 1810–14. Ordained in the Anglican Church, 1814. Formed a close friendship with Richard Whately at Oxford, joining him in Dublin in 1832.
