Thomas White Woodbury (1818–71)
Journalist and beekeeper. From 1850 devoted himself exclusively to beekeeping. Introduced Ligurian bees to Britain in 1859 and developed the "Woodbury hive", marketed by the London apiarian specialists George Neighbour & Sons. As "A Devonshire Beekeeper", a regular contributor to the Cottage Gardener, the Journal of Horticulture, the Gardeners’ Chronicle, and The Times.
