Charles Boner (1815–70)

Journalist, translator, and poet. Tutored the two eldest sons of John Constable, 1831–7. Employed by the family of Prince Thurn und Taxis in Regensburg, Germany, 1840–60. Translated several German works, wrote verse, articles, and books; travelled as a naturalist and huntsman. Settled in Munich in 1860.
