Aimé Jacques Alexandre (Aimé) Bonpland (1773–1858)

French physician, traveller, and botanist. Accompanied Alexander von Humboldt on his South American travels, 1799–1804. Curator of the garden at the royal château of Malmaison, 1809. Returned to South America in 1817.
