Anselme-Gaëtan Desmarest (1784–1838)

French zoologist. Son of the geologist Nicolas Desmarest. Professor at the Ecole vétérinaire d’Alfort from 1815. Published works on living and fossil crustaceans, and several illustrated monographs on birds and mammals.
