William Patrick Adam (1823–81)

Liberal politician. BA, Cambridge, 1846. Called to the bar, 1849. A lord of the Treasury, 1868–73. First commissioner of works and paymaster-general, 1873–4 and 1880. Governor of Madras, 1880–1.
