Peter Faucett (1813–94)

Irish judge. BA, Trinity College, Dublin, 1840. Irish bar, 1845; colonial bar of New South Wales (Sydney), 1852. Member of the faculty of law of the University of Sydney and fellow of the senate, 1859–94. MP for King and Georgiana, 1858–9; for Yass Plains, 1861–5. Solicitor-general in the first Martin ministry, 1863–5. Puisne judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, 1865–88.
