C. K. (Károly) Akin (1830–93)

Hungarian physicist, writer on physics and chemistry. Worked with the deputy professor of experimental philosophy at Oxford University on "calcescence", 1862–3; involved in a priority dispute with John Tyndall. Corresponding member of Hungarian Academy of Sciences, 1868.
