George Leveson Gower Granville, 2d Earl Granville (1815–91)

Statesman and diplomat. Under-secretary for foreign affairs, 1840–1. MP for Morpeth, 1837–40; for Lichfield, 1841–6; deputy lieutenant for Shropshire, 1846; vice-president, Board of Trade, 1848–51. Vice-president of the Royal Commission for the Great Exhibition. FRS 1853.
