Ewald Hecker (1843–1909)

German psychiatrist. Doctorate, Königsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia), 1866. Worked with Karl Ludwig Kahlbaum at mental institutions in Görlitz (now Zgorzelec in Poland). Campaigned for the abolition of restraining practices in treating the mentally ill.
