Richard Barter (1802–70)

Physician. Dispensary doctor at Inniscarra, co. Cork, Ireland, until 1842. Founded St Anne’s hydrotherapy establishment at Blarney, County Cork, Ireland, in 1842; developed treatments using hot-air baths and Turkish baths.
