Friedrich Adelbert Maximilian (Max) Kuhn (1842–94)

German botanist. Student of Alexander Braun at Berlin. Completed his dissertation in 1867. Assistant at the royal herbarium, Berlin, 1866–8. Teacher at Königstadt Realschule, 1870; professor, 1889. Wrote several major taxonomic works on ferns.
