Godfrey Lushington (1832–1907)

Civil servant. Twin brother of Vernon Lushington. BA, Oxford (Balliol College), 1854; fellow, All Souls College, 1854. Called to the bar at the Inner Temple, 1858. Legal adviser at the Home Office, 1869; legal assistant under-secretary, 1876; permanent under-secretary, 1885–95. Knighted, 1892.
