John James Robert Manners, 7th duke of Rutland (1818–1906)

Politician. Entered Parliament, 1841. Became first commissioner of works, 1852; held the post again, 1858, 1866–8. Postmaster-general, 1874–80. Became seventh duke of Rutland in 1888.
