Alfred Percival Maudslay (1850–1931)

Archaeologist and anthropologist. BA, Cambridge (Trinity Hall), 1872. Held diplomatic posts in Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga, 1875–80. Made six archaeological expeditions to Guatemala, the first in 1883. President, Royal Anthropological Institute, from 1912. Published on central American history and enthography. Studied tropical birds in Guatemala.
