John Syer Bristowe (1827–95)

Physician. House surgeon, St Thomas’s Hospital, London, 1849; full physician, 1860, with a number of additional appointments throughout his career including those in botany, pathology, anatomy and physiology, and materia medica. Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries, 1849. Held many offices in the Royal College of Physicians. FRS 1881.
