George Wareing Ormerod (1810–91)

Geologist. BA, Oxford, 1833; MA, 1836. Practised as a solicitor in Manchester until 1855, after which he moved to Devon. Published on the geology of Devon. Compiled an index to the publications of the Geological Society, 1858; second edition, 1870.
