Alexius Burkhard Immanuel Friedrich (Friedrich) Pfaff (1825–86)

German mineralogist and geologist. Studied mathematics and mineralogy at Erlangen, where he habilitated in 1853. Professor of mineralogy, Erlangen, 1859–86. Attempted to reconcile the results of geological research with biblical accounts and opposed CD’s theory.
