William Arnold Bromfield (1801–51)

Botanist. MD, Glasgow, 1823. Settled at Ryde, Isle of Wight, in 1836 and spent the rest of his life preparing Flora Vectensis (1856). Contributor to botanical publications. Travelled Germany, Italy, and France, the West Indies, and North America. Died in Damascus while on a tour of Egypt and Syria.
