Benjamin Howard Rand (1827–83)

Physician and chemist. Lecturer on chemistry, Franklin Institute, 1850; professor of chemistry, Philadelphia Medical College, 1853. Secretary, Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences, 1852–64. Author of chemistry textbooks and contributor to medical journals.
