Charles Anthoni Johnson Brooke (1829–1917)

Naval officer, colonial officer, and second raja of Sarawak. Served in the Royal Navy, 1842–52. Joined his uncle James Brooke, raja of Sarawak, in 1852. Named as heir, 1867; became second raja on his uncle’s death in 1868. In later life, spent part of each year in England. Knighted, 1888.
