Francis Charles Hastings (Hastings) Russell, 9th duke of Bedford (1819–91)

Agriculturalist. MP for Bedfordshire, 1847–72. Succeeded to the dukedom in 1872. Carried out agricultural experiments on his estate at Woburn. President of the Royal Agricultural Society from 1879.
