Manga Sewa (d. 1884)

Ruler in northern Sierra Leone. Son of Asan Yira (Sori Wuleng) former ruler of Solimana state. Ruler of Solimana state from around 1862. Maintained commercial links with other northern peoples in Sierra Leone and beyond; extended areas of influence to include smaller states in the country. Committed suicide rather than submit during the seige of his capital, Falaba, by Samori Touré.
