Edward Alfred Smith (1842/3–1911)
Artist and civil servant. Son of the entomologist Frederick Smith. Provided insect illustrations for CD’s Descent and other natural history books. Employed by the General Post Office, eventually attaining post of Assistant Controller by 1901.
