Edward Charles Stirling (1848–1919)

Australian-born surgeon and physiologist. BA, Cambridge (Trinity College), 1870. Studied medicine at St George’s Hospital, London, where he became house surgeon and lecturer in physiology. Returned to Australia in 1881. Professor of physiology, University of Adelaide. Knighted, 1917.
