Wenzel Bojer (1797–1856)

Bohemian botanist and explorer. Explored islands off the east coast of Africa for the Austrian government; returned with a large herbarium in 1821. Returned to Mauritius after receiving a state pension; founder and later vice-president of the Mauritius natural history society. Published a major work on the flora of Mauritius (1837).
