John Wallace (1819–1895)

Brother of Alfred Russel Wallace. Carpenter and builder in London and Wales. Settled in California, 1849. Engineer and later president of the Tuolumne Water Company, 1851–63. County surveyor of Stockton, 1868–76. Chief engineer, San Joaquin and Sierra Nevada Railroad.
