Ernst Heinrich Weber (1795–1878)

German anatomist and physiologist. Studied medicine in Wittenberg and Leipzig. Obtained a doctorate in comparative anatomy in 1815. Professor of anatomy, University of Leipzig, 1821–71; of physiology, 1840–66. Accomplished significant work in sensory physiology, physiological acoustics, and other areas.
