William Buckland (1784–1856)

Geologist and clergyman. Reader in mineralogy, Oxford University, 1813; reader in geology, 1819–49. President of the Geological Society of London, 1824–5 and 1840–1. Dean of Westminster from 1845. FRS 1818.
