Clergyman and headmaster. Matriculated at Trinity College, Cambridge, 1834; fellow of Trinity, 1839–42; DD 1845. Vicar of St Martin’s, Leicester, 1841–4; headmaster of Harrow School, 1844–59; vicar of Doncaster, 1860–9; master of the Temple, 1869–94; dean of Llandaff, 1879–97.
