William Brabazon, 11th earl of Meath (1803–87)

Politician and philanthropist. Reforming member of parliament for county Dublin, 1830–2. Liberal MP for Dublin, 1837–41. Chairman of the Bray Township Commissioners, 1852–75. Established schemes to further the moral and physical improvement of the working classes in county Wicklow, Ireland. Succeeded as the eleventh earl of Meath in 1851. Lord lieutenant of county Wicklow, 1869–87.
