Emil von Wolff (1818–96)

German agricultural chemist. Director of Germany’s first agricultural experimental station in Möckern, 1850–3; professor of agricultural chemistry at the Württemberg Academy of Agriculture and Forest Husbandry at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, until 1894. Carried out important research on soil science and fertilisers, and the nutritional content of animal feed.
