John Theophilus Boileau (1805–86)

Army officer and astronomer. Lieutenant in the Bengal Engineers, 1820; captain, 1846. Served as superintending engineer in the Public Department of Works for the North-West Provinces at Simla, and built three astronomical observatories. Retired with the rank of major-general in 1857. FRS 1840.
