Peter Collinson (1694–1768)

Botanist. Partner in his family’s business trading cloth, especially with North America; friend of Benjamin Franklin and the botanist John Bartram, as well as many other important figures in botany and natural history generally. Had a famous garden at Mill Hill. FRS 1728.
