American surgeon. MD, Pennsylvania, 1840. Army surgeon, 1840–5. Practised in New York from 1845. Professor of anatomy, University of the City of New York, 1852–66. Professor, Bellevue Hospital Medical College, 1866. Author of Lectures on the diseases of the rectum (1870).
