Albert Ripley Leeds (1843–1902)
American chemist and geologist. AB, Harvard, 1865; honorary PhD, Princeton, 1876. Studied at the School of Mines, Berlin, 1869. State chemist of New Jersey, 1879–95. Professor of chemistry, Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, 1871–1902. Fellow of the Academy of Science of New York. Wrote mostly on ozone, water analysis and supply, and other chemical subjects.
