Gustave-Germer Baillière (b. 1837)

French publisher, bookseller, and politician. Studied medicine. Nephew of Jean Baptiste Marie Baillière. Head of the publishing house Germer-Baillière. Promoted a strong scientific and medical list. Established several periodicals to report on contemporary scientific work. Introduced an international scientific series to combat the insularity of French intellectual life.
