Samuel Pegge (1733–1800)

Antiquary and writer. Attended Chesterfield School. Matriculated, St John’s College, Cambridge, 1751. Called to the bar, 1754. Appointed groom of the privy chamber to the king, 1762. Musical composer, poet, and author of works on the royal household.
