John Chatto (1809–87)

Surgeon and librarian. Studied at St Bartholemew’s hospital; MRCS, LSA, 1832. Practised briefly but turned to writing and became a frequent contributor to the British and Foreign Medical and Chirurgical Review and the Medical Times. Librarian, Royal College of Surgeons, 1853–87.
