Ercole Ricotti (1816–83)

Italian historian and politician. Graduated at the University of Turin, 1836. Professor of military (later modern) history, Turin 1846–79. Municipal councillor, Turin, 1877–83. President of the Academy of Sciences, Turin, 1879–83.
