Joseph Cradock (1742–1826)

Writer and antiquary. Moved in theatrical circles in London. Built a country house in Leicestershire, where he gave private theatricals and musical events. High sheriff of Leicestershire in 1767 and 1781. Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, 1768. Forced to return to London and sell his country house due to financial difficulties in 1823. Published two volumes of his memoirs in 1826.
