Adam Josef Kunkel (1848–1905)

German pharmacologist. Studied at Munich, Göttingen and Würzburg, where he received his doctorate in medicine, 1872. Habilitated at Würzburg in physiology, 1875. Privat-dozent, Würzburg, 1876–81. District physician, Hofheim, 1882. Professor extraordinarius, Würzburg, 1883; professor of pharmacology, 1888–1905; rector of the university, 1903–4.
