Francis Thomas de Grey Cowper, 7th Earl Cowper (1834–1905)

Politician and landowner. BA, Oxford, 1855. Succeeded his father as seventh Earl Cowper in 1856. Lord lieutenant of Bedfordshire, 1861. A Whig and a supporter of Gladstone. House of Lords spokesman on Board of Trade matters, 1871–3. Lord lieutenant of Ireland, 1880–2.
