Mitchell Henry (1826–1910)

Irish politician. Trained at the Pine Street medical school in Manchester. Practised surgery in London, 1847–62. Abandoned medicine to become a partner in the family mercantile and warehouse firm. Purchased a large estate in county Galway, Ireland. MP for Galway, 1871–85; for Glasgow Blackfriars and Hutchesontown, 1885–86.
