Walter Gardiner (1859–1941)

Botanist. BA, Cambridge, 1882. Studied in Würzburg under Julius Sachs. Demonstrator in botany, Cambridge, 1884–8; university lecturer in botany, 1888–97. Bursar of Clare College, 1895–1913. Worked on the cellular structure of plant tissue. FRS 1890.
