Charles Edward Groves (1841–1920)

Chemist. Studied at the Royal College of Chemistry. Chief assistant in the laboratory of John Stenhouse, Pentonville, 1862–80. Lecturer on chemistry and dental metallurgy, Guy’s Hospital, 1880–1901. Subeditor, Journal of the Chemical Society, 1878; editor, 1884–99. FRS 1883.
