Hugh Francis Clarke Cleghorn (1820–95)

Physician and forester. Appointed to Madras Medical Service, Mysore, 1842. Became professor of botany, Madras, in 1852, and conservator of forests, Madras, in 1856; inspector-general, 1867. Returned to Scotland c. 1869.
