Edward Clive, 1st earl of Powis (1754–1839)

Statesman. MP for Ludlow 1774–94. Created Baron Clive of Walcot, 1794. Governor of Madras, 1798–1803. Married Henrietta Antonia Herbert, daughter of the earl of Powis and last of the Herbert family, in 1784. Granted the revived title of earl of Powis in 1804.
