Mr John Wallace (30 July 1818–26 March 1895)

Brother of ARW. Trained as a joiner and carpenter, and became an engineer and surveyor. Emigrated to California in 1849 and became a US citizen in 1856. Married Mary Elizabeth Webster (1834 - 1913) in England on the 18th January 1855 and then returned to the USA with his new wife. They had 6 children. The town of Wallace in western Calaveras County, California is named after him.
