Is a candidate for the Chair of Natural Philosophy at Edinburgh and would be glad if JH would supply him with his views on any of TG's papers.

When the case containing the stand of the telescope was opened it was found to contain a number of books. Were these intended for the R.A.S. or should they be returned to JH?
Sending officially the thanks of the Council of the R.A.S. to JH and Caroline Herschel for their gift of the telescope. Hopes JH will convey these thanks to Miss Herschel.

Council of the R.A.S. have decided to print 250 extra copies of the Memoir of Francis Baily. How many would JH like and how shall he send them?
Enclosing catalogue of Thomas Henderson's library. Printers have not yet delivered the separate copies of Francis Baily's Memoir. Points out two small errors.
